The Oswego State men's ice hockey team scored the first four goals of the game and held on for a 4-3 win over Brockport on Saturday night at Tuttle Ice Arena at SUNY Brockport.
The Lakers capitalized on a power play after Brockport went to the box in the first shift of the game. Matt Whitehead scored his third of the year for the Lakers on assists from Peter Magagna and Rich Zalewski.
Then, with 14:23 left in the first period, Neil Musselwhite scored his first of two goals in the game on assists from Brad Dormiedy and Francois Gagnon.
Ryan Ellis and Musselwhite scored early in the second period to extend the lead to 4-0 and Oswego State went on to win. Dormiedy finished the game with three assists.
Laker goalie Chris Hyk picked up the win in his first start of the season, making 18 saves on 21 shots. Oswego State outshot Brockport 26-21 and the Lakers were 2-for-3 on the power play in the game.
