The Oswego State men's ice hockey team defeated Geneseo 5-0 on Friday night at Ira S. Wilson Ice Arena in Geneseo. Senior goalie
Ryan Scott recorded his seventh career shutout with 28 saves and is now the all-time leader in shutouts in Oswego State history.
The Lakers got off to a great start as Garren Reisweber scored his first goal of the season just 2:27 into the first period on assists from Tony DiNunzio and Mark Lozzi. Oswego State extended the lead to 2-0 midway through the first on an unassisted goal by C.J. Thompson.
After a scoreless second period, which was delayed due to glass breaking on a body check by C.J. Thompson, the Lakers scored early in the third period on a short-handed goal by Neil Musselwhite that chased Geneseo starting goalie Derek Jokic (28 saves). Jeff Pasemko played the last 14:43 and made seven saves on nine shots.
Brendan McLaughlin and Reisweber scored again in the latter stages of the third period to account for the 5-0 final.
Oswego State is now 2-2-1 on the season and 2-1-0 in SUNYAC play, while Geneseo fell to 3-4-0 overall and 3-2-0 in the conference.
