The Lord Jeffs opened the scoring 7:38 into the first period on a sharp angle shot from Jack Baer that snuck through Oswego State goalie Ryan Scott. There were no goals in the remainder of the first period or the entire second period, as Oswego State outshot Amherst 14-3 in the middle period.

Amherst extended its lead to 2-0 on a partial breakaway by Michael McIntosh with 5:31 left to play in the third period.

Oswego State answered quickly with a power-play goal by Peter Magagna on a wraparound to end Larose's shutout bid. Brendan McLaughlin and Francois Gagnon picked up assists on the Laker goal.

The Lakers earned another power play late in the third period, but couldn't find a way past the Amherst defense, and the Lord Jeffs scored a short-handed empty-net goal by Kyle Schopple with 49 seconds left to seal the victory.

Oswego State goalie Ryan Scott made 17 saves.
