The Oswego State men's lacrosse team lost 12-6 at St. John Fisher on Wednesday afternoon. The Lakers are now 2-1 on the season.
The Lakers took an early 2-1 lead just five minutes into the game, but the host Cardinals scored the game's next five goals and kept Oswego State off the scoreboard for the remainder of the first half to build a 6-2 halftime lead.
Matt Ficarra scored early in the third quarter to reduce the deficit to 6-3, but that was as close as the Lakers would come in the second half.
Dan Rogers and Mike Brewster had two goals each to lead the Oswego State offense and Mike Nash and Ficarra also scored. Steve Tronovitch had an assist for the Lakers. Matt Pfister made nine saves in the cage. Eddie Walsh led Oswego State with seven ground balls.
St. John Fisher's Chris Schmidt had five goals, and the Cardinals won 15 of 22 draws in the game.
The Lakers return to action on Saturday at RIT at 1 p.m.
