The Oswego State men's lacrosse team defeated Morrisville State College 16-3 on Thursday afternoon at Morrisville. The Lakers snapped a four-game losing streak with the victory and are now 3-4 on the year.
Mike Strohm had nine points for the Lakers with four goals and five assists in the game, and John Schumacher also scored four goals for the Lakers. Steve Tronovitch and Derek Card scored twice each, and Tom Maloney, Mike Wiesenthal, Adam Geier and Ryan Greene scored once each.
The Lakers outshot Morrisville 50-18 in the game, and won 20 of 23 face offs. The Lakers built a 5-1 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Oswego State begins SUNYAC play on Saturday against Brockport at 3:30 p.m. in a game that will be played at Irondequoit High School.
