The Oswego State women's soccer team lost to visiting Hamilton 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Laker Field in Oswego.
Hamilton opened the scoring just 31 seconds into the first half as Anne Graveley linked up with Nicole Tetreault on a combination passing play, with Tetreault taking the pass and slotting a low shot into the right side of the net past Laker goalkeeper Toby Klein.
The rest of the first half was scoreless, and then Oswego State returned the favor, and scored in the first minute of the second half. Laker sophomore Tricia Sullivan collected a cross and fired a close-range shot that was stopped by Hamilton keeper Caitlin McGilley, but the rebound fell to Sullivan who directed it in to tie the score 1-1.
Hamilton earned the victory with two more goals in the second half. The game-winner was scored by Katie Lyons in the 50th minute on an assist from Erica Dressler. An insurance goal by Tetreault, her second goal of the game, accounted for the final score.
Oswego State goalkeeper Klein had nine saves, and the Lakers are 0-2-0 on the year. Hamilton improved to 2-0-0. McGilley made six saves.
The Lakers will play their next four games on the road, beginning Wednesday at St. Lawrence.
