Oswego, NY - Two seniors and one junior make up the All-SUNYAC honors for Oswego State Women's Soccer as their season ended in a double overtime thriller at Fredonia on November 1st.
Junior
Kyla Sustad (Willet, N.Y. / Cincinnatus High School) led the lines for the Lakers in her first season wearing Gold and Green, where she transferred from Le Moyne College. Her five goals was tied for tenth in the SUNYAC, and she also added eight assists, which was firmly in third place in SUNYAC rankings. In addition, she was a consistent threat in front of goal, and 79 shots on goal this season leads the conference.
Senior
Amber McDermott (Rock Tavern, N.Y. / Washingtonville High School) was the second Laker selected to All-SUNYAC First Team. The Senior midfielder has been a mainstay in the starting 11 for the Lakers all four seasons she has played for Oswego, logging over 70 games played, which she started in all of them. She logged three goals this season, which is tied for 27th in the conference, along with four assists, which is tied for 6th in conference rankings. Her consistent play on both sides of the ball makes her one of the premier midfielders in the SUNYAC.
Senior
Erika Yancey (Fairport, N.Y. / Fairport High School) is the third and final Laker to be selected for the All-SUNYAC First Team. Since transferring from Mercyhurst prior to last season, Yancey has started all 34 games the Lakers have played in, appearing in the All-SUNYAC team for the second consecutive season. She spearheaded an excellent defensive unit for Oswego that surrendered just 1.24 goals per game this season. In addition, Yancey also added 2 goals from her Center Back spot.
