Potsdam comes back to beat Lakers

The Oswego State men's lacrosse team lost 10-7 to Potsdam on Wednesday afternoon at Laker Field in Oswego.

The Lakers are now 2-11 overall and 1-5 in the SUNY Athletic Conference. Potsdam is 7-5 overall and 4-2 in the conference.

Oswego State scored the first four goals of the game, including first-quarter tallies by Mike Brewster and Elliott Couch, and goals early in the second quarter by Mike Strohm and Kevin Furletti.

The Bears rallied back before halftime by scoring four of the game's next five goals, and the Lakers held a 5-4 advantage at the break.

Potsdam outscored Oswego State 3-0 in the third quarter on goals by Corey Reinhart, Dustin Dunn, and Justin Wilson-Kirby to take control of momentum and held on for the victory.

Mike Strohm and John Schumacher scored late goals for Oswego State, and goalie Judd Robinson finished the contest with 12 saves. Cam Davoy had two assists.

Potsdam's Cody Schroeder had two goals, and Wilson-Kirby had a goal and two assists. Goalie Chris Ehde had seven saves and allowed three goals in relief of starter Billy Richards.
