Box Score

The Oswego State men's lacrosse team trailed by one goal late the third quarter before Plattsburgh scored four goals to end the frame, as the Cardinals went on to defeat the Lakers 20-10 on Saturday in Plattsburgh. In a contest where both teams combined to fire 113 shots, Oswego State goalie Judd Robinson (Sr., Guilderland, N.Y.) recorded 20 saves to close out his career with 697 saves. Oswego State finished the season at 6-10 overall and 1-5 in the SUNYAC, while Plattsburgh moved to 11-6 overall and 2-4 in the league.

Both offenses struggled to find the back of the net until the Cardinals scored two goals in under two minutes with 3:20 left to play in the quarter.  Ryan White (Sr., Rockville Centre, N.Y.) cut the deficit in half with an unassisted goal to end the scoring for the period.

Scoring stalled until later in the second frame as well as Kyle Norchi tallied three straight goals for Plattsburgh to grab a 5-1 lead.  Andy Lever (So., Lindenhurst, N.Y.) regained some momentum for the Lakers heading into the second half when he recorded his 22nd goal of the season with 1:01 on the clock.

The Cardinals struck the first blow in the second half to push the lead to four goals, but White's second goal of the game helped get the Lakers back into the contest.  Seconds later, Andy Williams (So., Hamburg, N.Y.) received a pass from Lever for his 10th goal of the year.  On a man-up opportunity, Britt Leone (So., Schenectady, N.Y.) found Mike Wiesenthal (Sr., Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) open for the score to pull Oswego State to within one goal at 6-5.  After a Plattsburgh goal, Leone answered right back with a goal of his own with 5:08 left in the stanza.  However, the Cardinals rattled off four straight goals, including two man-down goals and one man-up goal, to go into the fourth quarter with an 11-6 lead.

Lever posted his second goal of the game almost immediately after the Lakers won the opening draw in the fourth with Chad Smith (Fr., Fulton, N.Y.) receiving an assist.  But, that would be as close as Oswego State would get as the Lakers recorded three goals compared to nine for Plattsburgh the rest of the way.

Williams joined Lever and White with two goals, while Smith, Wiesenthal and Nick Zoyhofski (Sr., Hamburg, N.Y.) rounded out the Oswego State scoring.  Plattsburgh was paced by Norchi, Pete Morgan, and Tommy Kilderry with four goals each.

Laker goalie Judd Robinson (Sr., Guilderland, N.Y.) tallied 20 saves and allowed 18 goals in 52:33, while Zach Harris (Sr., Fairport, N.Y.) recorded two saves and allowed two goals.  Three Plattsburgh goalies combined to make 19 saves.
