Box Score
Jake Schindler's goal 51 seconds into the game gave Roberts Wesleyan a lead it would not relinquish against the Oswego State men's soccer team on Saturday night in Rochester. The Raiders would tally three more goals, all in the second half, defeating the Lakers 4-0. The loss dropped the Lakers to 1-4 on the season, while the Raiders improved to 2-4.
Schindler's goal was the only one of the first half, a half in which the shots were nearly even between the squads. The second half proved to be a different story as the Raiders fired 13 shots to only four for Oswego State. The game was also littered with 41 fouls, 22 of which were committed by Roberts Wesleyan.
The Raiders found the net for the first time in the second half in the 56th minute, when Donavan Wilson got the ball past Laker senior goalkeeper
Matt Wopperer. Schindler booted in his second goal of the game in the 76th minute on a penalty kick. Just two minutes later, Jorge Pessoa knocked in the fourth and final goal of the contest.
Wopperer finished the game with eight saves in the loss. Erik Read and Ryan Sanford combined for five saves in the shutout.
Oswego State looks to rebound against Hamilton College on Tuesday afternoon at Laker Field.
