The Oswego State baseball team rebounded from Tuesday's loss on the road with a pair of home wins at Laker Field versus Utica College, winning game one by a score of 3-1 and posting a 2-1 walk-off with in the eighth inning of game two. The victories push the Lakers to 10-3 on the season, while the losses dropped Utica to 0-9.

Oswego State pitcher Chris Nyman picked up the win in game one, allowing one hit through the final three innings and striking out five, while Dan Erne earned the win in game two, allowing one hit through three innings.

Utica's Chris Jeffers took the loss in game one, allowing five hits, four walks, and three hits while striking out one. In the nightcap, Dennis Labossiere held the Lakers to one run in seven innings despite walking five before Chris Podlucky suffered the loss in the bottom of the eighth.

Oswego State took the lead early in game one with a 2-0 lead after an error allowed Scott Buniak to score from third. The combination of a Pioneer outfield error and a wild pitch allowed all base runners to advance, resulting in Kris Prikazsky scoring the second run.

Utica's Joe Sportman crossed home plate for the sole Pioneer run in the top of the fourth inning, but the Lakers scored an insurance run when Ed Charles scored in the bottom of the fifth to erase any chance of a comeback.

After a failed pickoff attempt resulted in an Oswego State run in the bottom of the fourth inning of game two, Utica's Terrence Reyes hit a sacrifice fly to center field to drive in Angel Zapata to knot the score at one in the next at-bat.

The Pioneers built a rally in the top of the seventh with the bases loaded and one out, but Baker was able to throw out Anthony DiSalvo at the plate as Dan Maloney held onto the ball.  The next Utica batter flied out to second base.

In the bottom of the eighth, the first two Laker hitters reached on walks.  Maloney ripped a single into center field, but Reyes came up throwing and gunned down Mike Stark, who was coming in from second, at the plate.  However, Pat Brown advanced to third on the play to set up first and third with one out.  Buniak then delivered a sacrifice fly that was deep enough to right field to drive in Brown for the walk-off win.

Game two starter Brady Farkas pitched five innings, striking out one and allowing four hits.

The Lakers host another doubleheader on Saturday, starting at noon against visiting Oneonta to open conference play.
