In the 2011 season opener, the Oswego State men's lacrosse team suffered an 11-10 setback to Morrisville Saturday afternoon on Drake Field. The Lakers (0-1) will look to regroup when they travel to Rochester to face St. John Fisher Tuesday at 4 p.m.
In a back and forth first half battle, Oswego State held the 7-6 advantage at the break before Morrisville State tallied four unanswered scores in the third quarter, two on man up opportunities, for the 10-8 lead.
Oswego State's
Brett Sarubbi tied the contest for the seventh time with a score with 3:18 remaining, but it was Morrisville State's Tom Longland, who forced a turnover and hit attackman Adam Lewis on a fast break clear, for the game-winning tally with 1:52 to go that put the game in the books for the Mustangs.

Andy Lever, and Sarubbi each tallied two goals for the Lakers in the loss, while Lever added two assists. Oswego State also received goals from
Chad Smith,
Britt Leone,
Adam Jean, and
Pat Decker. Eight Mustangs netted scores on the afternoon, including Lewis with two tallies. Kevin Wilkerson and Brendan Shannon each added two scores and an assist. Brandon Macera led the Mustangs with three assists, adding a score.
Laker goalie
Ian O'Brien suffered the loss after registering four stops. Morrisville goalie Michael Hinchey recorded the win in net making eight saves.
