Men's Lacrosse Remains Unbeaten After 19-3 Win at SUNYIT



MARCY, N.Y. - Cody Hoose (So., Syracuse, N.Y.) and Casey Balzer (Sr., Nassau, N.Y.) netted three goals apiece and combined for four assists, as the Oswego State men's lacrosse team (4-0) remained unbeaten following a 19-3 win over SUNYIT on Saturday afternoon.

Chris Porten (Jr., Auburn, N.Y.) opened the scoring for the Lakers after receiving a pass from Nick Giampaolo (Jr., Setauket, N.Y.) 13 seconds into the game. Balzer closed out the quarter with a pair of goals from Hoose to put Oswego State out in front, 3-0.

Giampaolo hit Connor Brown (Sr., Syracuse, N.Y.) was a pass for the first of nine Laker goals in the second quarter off of the opening face-off. Hoose scored all three of his goals during the frame, while Oswego State received markers from Giampaolo, Balzer, Matt Palmer (So., Pittsford, N.Y.), Jimmy Cordon (So., Camillus, N.Y.) and Troy Crevier (Fr., Webster, N.Y.) to take a 12-0 lead into halftime. Crevier also wrapped up the game 8-for-11 on faceoffs.

Ben Morrill (So., Webster, N.Y.) and Bryan Weinert (So., Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) joined the scoring act before SUNYIT's Jon Eguren scored late in the third period.

After a goal by Wildcat Tyler Serva, Tyler Calkin (Jr., Endicott, N.Y.) netted two straight markers followed by a Dan Allgeier (Sr., Bayport, N.Y.) score to make the score 17-2. SUNYIT posted its third goal with six minutes remaining before Brandon Dzwonkowski (So., Syracuse, N.Y.) and Taylor Ross (So., Lowville, N.Y.) closed out the scoring.

Bryan Martin (Jr., St. James, N.Y.), Kyle Wright (So., Red Hook, N.Y.) and Zack Anderson (Fr., Carthage, N.Y.) combined to make eight saves. A trio of SUNYIT goalies made 13 saves during the game.

The Lakers put their unblemished mark on the line on Wednesday when they face Misericordia at 4 p.m.
