Oswego Concludes 2014 Campaign with Loss at Oneonta

ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Oswego men's lacrosse team fell by a final score of 13-11 to Oneonta on the road Saturday afternoon. Oswego concludes the 2014 campaign 6-9 overall and 0-6 in the SUNYAC.
 
Oswego got on the board first as Torry Whitcher scored on an assist from Nick Giampaolo.  Oneonta netted the next three before Connor Khammar scored an unassisted goal.  The teams traded the next three goals with Matt Palmer scoring for the Lakers on an assist from Khammar to close the opening period at 5-3.
 
Goals were harder to come by in the second as Palmer scored his second, again from Giampaolo.  Oneonta closed the half with the last two to lead 7-4 at the half.
 
The third period began with another Oneonta goal before Chris Porten and Jimmy Cordon scored goals on assists from Cody Hoose to keep the deficit at two, 8-6.  After another Oneonta goal, Kyle Wistner scored from Porten. 
 
Two more goals from each side left the score at 11-9 after three periods.  Cody Hoose scored from Giampaolo before he assisted on a Porten tally.
 
In the fourth, Oneonta got the first goal before a pair of Khammar goals closed the gap to one.  Oneonta added an insurance goal with 2:30 left in the game to finalize the scoring.
 
In goal, senior Bryan Martin had 11 saves to keep the Lakers in striking distance throughout the contest.
