OSWEGO, N.Y. – The No. 9/9 Oswego State men's ice hockey team will play the SUNY Canton Kangaroos at 7 p.m. this Saturday night inside the Marano Campus Center Arena. Saturday's game will also be Military Appreciation Night, as Oswego will pay tribute to the branches of the United States Armed Forces.
Oswego State (2-1-0, 1-0-0 in SUNYAC) nabbed its first SUNYAC win of the season in its first try, as the Lakers went on the road and defeated Cortland 3-1 last Friday night.
Currently ranked No. 9 in both the USCHO.com poll and the D3hockey.com poll, Oswego will look to continue its perfect history against the Kangaroos. The Lakers are 7-0-0 all-time against Canton. In five meetings since 2014, the Lakers have outscored Canton 28-4.
Prior to Saturday's game, Oswego will honor its Hometown Hero, Glynn English, during the ceremonial puck drop.
English is a Vietnam War Veteran and a Purple Heart Recipient. He also graduated from SUNY Oswego, and is a current Assistant Dean and Director of BASAC, the advisement center for the School of Business students at SUNY Oswego.
Please join us in recognizing English and all of our military personnel during Saturday night's game. Tickets are still available by visiting the box office, by phone at 315-312-3073 or online at tickets.oswego.edu.
