Weekend to See Three Laker Programs in NCAAs

OSWEGO, N.Y. – Oswego State Athletics has a major presence at NCAA Championships this weekend, with three teams represented at national tournaments. Men's ice hockey, Ben Griffin of the men's track and field team and Jordan Bushey, Evan Corso and Rocco Russo of the wrestling team will all compete at their respective NCAA Championships over the weekend.

The weekend will begin with the wrestling team competing on Friday morning at the La Crosse Center in La Crosse, Wisc., as the championship will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Oswego is led by fourth-seeded Bushey in the 184-pound weight class. Bushey boasts a 35-0 mark and is one of just 18 wrestlers out of 180 able to say he is without a blemish. Of those 18 undefeated wrestlers, the Mideast Regional 184-pound champion's 35 wins is third-most. Russo, who won the 157-pound championship at the Mideast Regional, and Corso, the 133-pound Mideast runner-up, will join Bushey at nationals. The championship will run through Saturday night until a national champion is crowned in each of the 10 weight classes.
