PENN YAN, N.Y. – The Oswego State golf team tied for fourth place at the Keuka College Spring Invitational on Wednesday afternoon. Oswego tied with Hobart College with a 336 (+48), just one spot back of third and five back of second. Utica College captured the title at 316 (+28), 14-strokes better than the next closest team.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Oswego was led by Joe Marszalek, who collected a top-10 finish. The freshman shot an 82 for a tie in 10th place, joining six other golfers with the same score.
• The second-lowest score for Oswego was from senior Jackson Mordaunt. The Marietta, N.Y. native finished just inside the top 20 with an 84.
• A trio of Lakers closed out the scoring in a three-way tie, as Nick Gramuglia, Kyle McCloskey and Dean Matthews each shot an 85.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Lakers head back to Hershey, Pa. and Hershey Country Club for the final two rounds of the Empire 8 Championship. Round three begins on Saturday as Oswego looks to expand its one-stroke lead on St. John Fisher College, with the leader after Sunday's final round earning an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship.
