December 4 Athletes of the Week

Four Lakers Earn SUNYAC Weekly Honors

The SUNYAC selected four Lakers athletes as weekly conference award winners during the week of November 27th-December 3rd. Those recognized for their performance include:
 
Shane Bull – Men's Hockey Player of the Week
Giavanna White-Principio – Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week
Tyler Rossini – Men's Wrestler of the Week
Brock Krulicki – Men's Hockey Rookie of the Week
 
Bull led the Lakers to a perfect weekend of SUNYAC play as they went 2-0 including a win over #1 Plattsburgh. On Friday, he recorded 2 goals and 2 assists in the 6-0 win over Potsdam. On Saturday, he set the tone with the first goal of the game and later assisted on another goal in a 5-3 win over #1 Plattsburgh.
 
White-Principio had two double-doubles to lead the Lakers to a perfect 2-0 record in SUNYAC play over the weekend. White-Principio shot 10-18 from the floor for 24 points, to go with 33 rebounds, 4 steals, 3 blocked shots and only committed a single turnover over two games on the weekend. Her dominant presence in the paint allowed nearly no one to take away rebounds from her as she recorded a season-high 18 rebounds in Friday's win against Potsdam and another 15 rebounds in Saturday's win against Plattsburgh.
 
Rossini, the #4 seed won the RIT Invitational at 149 pounds going 4-0 on the day. Rossini opened the tournament with a fall over Jack DaVoe of Wesleyan and a 9-3 decision over Clay Rankin of RIT. He then defeated top seeded Calvin Cai of Case Western Reserve 8-1. In the title match, Rossini won a 4-2 decision over the number 2 seed Peyton Heard of Penn State-Behrend.
 
Krulicki played a pivotal role in the Lakers pulling off two SUNYAC wins over the weekend. On Friday, he had one goal and one assist in the 6-0 win over Potsdam on Friday evening. Then on Saturday, he notched an unassisted goal in the 5-3 win over #1 Plattsburgh.
