OSWEGO, NY - The SUNYAC has released their men's lacrosse All-Conference first and second teams for the Spring 2024 season.
On these two teams composed of the best lacrosse players in the conference, four Oswego State athletes represent the Lakers, defender Jackson Cummings and goalkeeper Seamus Hand on the first team and offensive midfielder Corey O'Connor and face-off specialist Logan Prescott on the second team.
Cummings started a career-high 16 games for the Lakers this season. He also posted career highs in two major defensive categories, collecting 40 ground balls and causing 15 turnovers in his junior season.
In net, Hand was a large factor in the Lakers push for a SUNYAC playoff berth. Hand made 258 saves on the season, 10 behind the most saves made in a single season by a Laker and posted a .629 save percentage en route to a 7-5 record for the season.
For Corey O'Connor, he made the All-Conference second team based on his offensive output off of the Lakers' bench. O'Connor tallied a career-high 44 total points on the season, scoring a career-high 35 goals and dishing out nine assists. He also surpassed the 100 career points milestone this season.
Logan Prescott made the second team based on his proficiency in the faceoff circle. Prescott finished the season winning 184-348 faceoffs in 2024 for a faceoff win percentage of 52.9%. He also surpassed the 500 faceoff wins mark for his career this season and set a career-high collecting 107 ground balls. This is Prescott's second time being selected to second team all conference after being selected last season.Â
All four recipients honored helped the Lakers finish the season with a 10-6 overall record and a 5-2 record in the SUNYAC to clinch a playoff berth.
