Meet the Lakers Joining the Men's Soccer team in 2024

OSWEGO, NY – The SUNY Oswego men's soccer team is gearing up for the 2024 season. The Lakers look to improve on their 2-6-7 record from the 2023 season. The roster will add ten freshmen while returning 24 student-athletes. This will be the seventh season for head coach Dan Kane.

Max Mahlke will join the Lakers this season from East Lyme High School in East Lyme, CT. Mahlke is a goalkeeper who played for the club team CT Rush. "Max comes to us from a very good CT Rush team. He is a long goalie with great feet and good command of his box." Head Coach Dan Kane. Max will wear #00.

Simone Bastone is coming to Oswego from Warwick Valley High School in Warwick, NY. He is a center midfielder who played for the Cedar Stars Hudson Valley. "Simon has a huge motor and excels at breaking lines. He also is extremely tidy with the ball and never backs down from a challenge." Head Coach Dan Kane. Simone will wear #25.

Ryan Bullis is a graduate of Baldwinsville High School in Baldwinsville, NY. For the Syracuse Developmental Academy, he played center/mid, center back, and outside back. "Ryan is an extremely versatile player that can play almost any position. His best attribute is that he makes the players around him better." Head Coach Dan Kane. Bullis will wear #19.

Luke Brosokas will be a Laker after graduating from Oceanside High School in Oceanside, NY. He played center back and outside back for the East Coast Club team. "Luke is a highly intelligent player who can affect the game on both sides of the ball. He also has excellent positional awareness and a great mentality." Head Coach Dan Kane. Luke will wear #12.

Kyle Rose graduated from Shoreham Wading River High School in Wading River, NY. Kyle played goal keeper for SUSA ECNL . "Kyle possesses excellent leadership skills and focus. He also has great reflexes as he demonstrated for SUSA's ECNL team" Head Coach Dan Kane. Rose will wear #1.

Eric Maldonado will be a Laker after graduating from Walt Whitman High School in Huntington Station, NY. As a center midfielder, he played for the club team LI Slammer. "Eric is a cerebral player that can play a number of positions. Above any position, he is a player who sees the game, and breaks pressure." Head Coach Dan Kane. Eric will wear #18.

Taisei Nagayama is a graduate of Vestal High School in vestal, NY. For his high school and club team, he was a center back and outside back. His experience at the club level came with BC United. "Taisei can play anywhere along the backline and can defend against wingers or big targets. He also possesses the ability to initiate the attack." Head Coach Dan Kane. Taisei will wear #13.

Hamid Alhamid is heading to Oswego after attending Corcoran High School in Syracuse, NY. He played club for Upstate United as a winger. "Hamid is a relentless presser who is capable of making something out of nothing. He also has the ability to score goals a number of ways." Head Coach Dan Kane. Hamid will wear #16.

Aidan Howard is a center back from Central Square High School and Brewerton, NY.  He played club soccer for the Rush Select. "Aidan is a CB who is often 2 steps ahead of attackers. He also has the skills to win a tackle and start the attack." Head Coach Dan Kane. Aidan will wear #31.

Jamieson Stewart is a graduate of Faith Fellowship Christian School and is from Watertown, NY. As a winger, he played club for the Rush Select. "Jamison is someone who can be dynamic on the ball and is great at driving into space to create 2 v 1's. He is also capable of some special moments." Head Coach Dan Kane. Jamieson will wear #29.

The Lakers will open regular season play on Saturday August 31st at Nazareth University. Their first home game of the season will be on Tuesday September 10th when they host Elmira College.
