HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers started out hot, with Emil Sander and Dylan Rosenberg getting on base as the first two batters. After 2 straight strikeouts, Patrick May hit a 2-RBI double. Matt Carner made it 3 with an RBI single up the middle closing out an impressive first inning for the Lakers.
Sophomore Owen Hoyt took the mound for the Lakers' defense, and after striking out the first two batters, walked 4 straight, giving Randolph-Macon a free run, before an infield fly would end the first at 3-1.
After loading the bases in the third, Emil Sander reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Felix De Asa Delacruz as well as Benjamin Silverman thanks to a throwing error, improving Oswego's lead to 5-1.
Grant Biederman would come in from the bullpen for the third inning, where Randolph Macon would score 3, and one more in the bottom of the fourth, making it a 5-5 game.
In the fifth, Felix De Asa Delacruz was driven home by a sac-fly hit by Anthony Barone. Immediately after, Dylan Rosenberg singled to center field, driving home Benjamin Silverman, giving the Lakers yet another lead, this time 7-5.
RMC was relentless, going hit for hit with the Lakers, and would score another 3 runs in the bottom of the fifth against LHP Danny Moccio, retaking the lead by a score of 8-7.
After Tishawn Featherstone singled to center field, Patrick May hit a 2 run homer, retaking Oswego's lead yet again, by a score of 9-8. Benjamin Silverman made it 10 before the inning was over, after stealing third, and reaching home plate on a balk.
Joel Hayner came in from the bullpen for the Lakers, and found some success, striking out one, with two other batters flying out.
Another Tishawn Featherstone single tallied two more runs in the seventh, as Daniel Winchester, and Dylan Rosenburg both crossed home, making it a 12-8 lead for Oswego.
RMC would score 2 more runs, making it 12-10 with 2 outs on the board, before a fly out to center field ended the inning, as well as the game due to darkness.
