OSWEGO, N.Y. - James Ronca of the wrestling team has been named Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending on November 9, 2014.

Ronca's second place finish helped the Lakers claim sixth place overall in the Ithaca College Invitaional this weekend. The junior was the top finisher among the Lakers.

Wrestling at the 125 weight class, Ronca opened Saturday with a 8-4 decision against eventual invite winners Johnson and Wales. In his second bout, the Ballston Spa native nabbed a sudden victory over NYU's Jacob Donato. Ronca was then beat by host Ithaca's James Kashian in the final match of the bracket.

Oswego had four Lakers finish in the top-six of their respective weight classes, including Ronca.

Wrsetling will hit the mats again at 7 p.m. on Friday, where the Lakers square off against the Rochester Intistute of Technology in a dual match at home.
