Esther Gabriel, the Outstanding Senior Female Athlete, played in 65 games as a Laker. She is a two-time Oswego State Athlete of the Week and earned Second Team All-SUNYAC as a junior. Over her career, the Lancaster, N.Y. native ranks seventh in program history in both points (162) and goals (119) and is tied for eighth in assists (43). She has led the Lakers in draws each of the last three years and was second on the team as a freshman. Currently, the senior ranks 11th in the nation in free-position percentage (.667) and 67th in draw controls per game (4.53). In the SUNYAC this year, she ranks fourth in draws (4.38), sixth in goals per game (2.94) and 10th in ground balls (2.31). Gabriel's numbers and leadership this season helped the Lakers to their first SUNYAC Championship appearance since 2005, its first conference tournament win since 2001 and tied a program record for wins in a single season (12).
