OSWEGO, N.Y. – Sean Paul Owen – of the golf team – was named Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the Week ending April 14.

The Horseheads, N.Y. native finished first at the Empire 8 Championship, being named Empire 8 Player of the Year after the final round. His efforts helped the Lakers finish second in the two-day event.

The senior shot a 292 over four rounds, eight strokes better than the second-place finisher and the second lowest four-round score in the Empire 8 Championship’s history. He was also the only golfer in the field to post an under-par round, with his final round 70.  

Owen and the Lakers take a week hiatus before returning to action in the Elmira College Spring Invitational at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23.
