The Oswego State hockey team tuned up for the regular season by rallying past the University of Waterloo 4-2 on Saturday, Oct. 16, at Romney Field House in an exhibition game.

The Lakers trailed 1-0 heading into the second period, but quickly erased the deficit scoring three goals in two minutes. Gary Bowman (Evansville, WY) started the outburst sailing a shot over the left shoulder of Waterloo goalie Nick Pannoni, knotting the game at one. That goal came at the 10:09 mark of the middle period. Andy Rozak (Mississauga, ONT) put Oswego State in front 26 seconds later with assists going to John Duco (Toronto, ONT) and Bowman.  Ryan Woodward (Picton, ONT) scored Oswego's third goal with Rozak and Don Patrick (Fulton, NY) being credited with assists. 

Waterloo cut the Laker lead to one with just over five minutes to play as Kevin Hurley scored his second goal of the game for the Warriors. Paul Perrier (Aurora, ONT) iced the win as he scored into an empty net goal to complete the scoring. 

Sophomore Brett Leonhardt (Waterloo, ONT) turned away 26 saves to get the win while Pannoni was busy recording 44 saves for the visiting Warriors.

The Lakers officially kick off the new season on Friday, Oct. 22, taking on Utica College at the Clinton Area. Game time is 7 p.m.
