Junior attackman Mike Wiesenthal (Poughkeepsie/Arlington) scored a game high four goals while senior midfielder Mike Brewster (East Syracuse/East Syracuse Minoa) extended his point-scoring streak with three assists to pace Oswego State, but visiting Rochester Institute of Technology opened the game with a 6-1 first quarter, which included the game's first two goals in the opening 38 seconds, and never trailed  en route to a 12-8 victory over the Lakers in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, March 18 on Laker Field.

Nine different players scored for the unbeaten Tigers (5-0), who outshot Oswego, 53-27, and led in ground balls, 44-35.  Sophomores Cody Schroeder-Young and Adam Vlassis, and junior Craig Nairn each scored two goals, with Schroeder-Young adding three assists. Sophomore Kevin Rattigan made six saves in goal.

Wiesenthal, sophomore Spencer Mallia (Buffalo/Bishop Timon-St. Jude) and senior Mike Recor (Syracuse/East Syracuse-Minoa) accounted for all of the scoring for the Lakers. Mallia and Recor each tallied two goals, with Recor also adding a pair of assists. Oswego trailed 11-4 with 7:40 to play in the third quarter before scoring four of the game's final five goals, two apiece coming from Wiesenthal and Mallia.

Brewster's three assists marks the fourth game this season registering at least a goal or an assists, and stretches his consecutive-game points streak to 17 games dating back to March 12 of last season (a 10-5 loss to RIT). Junior goalie Judd Robinson (Guilderland) stopped 20 shots in the cage.

Oswego takes to the road for a 7 p.m. night contest with Keuka College on Saturday, March 31 at Boswell Field on the campus of Hobart College before returning home for a 4 p.m. contest with St. Lawrence University on Wednesday, March 25.
