Oswego State sophomore forward
Eric Selleck (Spencerville, Ontario) was recognized by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) as a 2010 RBK Hockey Division III All-America East First Team honoree at a banquet held Thursday evening in conjunction with this weekend's NCAA Division III Men's Hockey Championships in Lake Placid, N.Y. Selleck was one of six players named to the All-America teams competing in the NCAA Semifinal games. He also finished as runner-up for the 2010 Sid Watson Award, which is symbolic of the nation's best Division III men's hockey player.
Selleck leads Division III in points per game at 1.96, ranks third in assists per game at 1.19, and is tied for eighth in goals per game at 0.78. He was selected as the 2010 Herb Hammond Most Valuable Player for the SUNY Athletic Conference and First Team All-SUNYAC after being named the 2009 SUNYAC Rookie of the Year the previous year to become the first player in league history to receive both honors in consecutive seasons. Selleck leads Oswego State in scoring with 21 goals and 32 assists for 53 points. In two seasons with the Lakers, he has recorded 79 points (34 goals, 45 assists) in 53 contests.
He is the first Oswego State player to be named to the All-America Team since Ryan Ellis was named to the Second Team in 2008.
The Lakers, who are 26-2-0, will face St. Norbert which is 23-3-3, in the semifinals of the NCAA Division III Men's Hockey Championship in Lake Placid, N.Y. on Friday, March 19 at 4 p.m. Oswego State won its first SUNYAC Championship since 2003 to earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament where it defeated Bowdoin 9-2 in the quarterfinal round.
