Rochester, N.Y. – The Oswego State swimming and diving teams wrapped up action at the Monroe Community College Winter Invitational on Sunday afternoon. Through all 40 events over the weekend, the Lakers finished third across the board, ranking 666.5 in combined team scores, 297.5 on the women's side and 369 for the men's team.
On Sunday, Austin Nau (22.78), Tom Schmid (23.62) and Matt Pamlanye (23.32) placed in the top three spots of the men's 50 yard freestyle, respectively.
Nau then teamed with Nathan Taylor, Thomas Kearney and Andrew Minnick to take first in the men's 200 yard medley, finishing with a meet-best time of 1:47.15. Minnick, Pamlanye, Nau and Pasha Rusakov took first in the 100 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:32.42.
Devin Foster took first in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 58.64.
The team of Kaela Russo, Katie Flood, Ashley Rode and Diana Galiatsatos placed first in the women's 200 yard medley relay with a finals time of 2:02.17, which also represented the meet record.
Flood, Emily Karszes (1:19.43) and Maya Kaplan (1:20.29) the gold, silver and bronze in the women's 100 yard breaststroke. The winning time, Flood's 1:12.68, was the meet best and was more than a second better than her preliminary time.
The swimming and diving teams will return to action after the New Year at 1 p.m. on Jan. 18 as Buffalo State comes to Laker Pool. The meet will also represent Oswego' Senior Day.
