Cortland, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's and women's swimming and diving teams both fell at Cortland on Wednesday night. Oswego's men lost a close battle 129-114 while the women were downed 152-84.
The women took the 200-yard medley relay by over three seconds, as Kaela Russo, Katie Flood, Sabia Filiaci and Emily Doe finished with a time of 1:57.24.
Individually, Laurie Jackson took 19:20.92 to nab the win in the 1650-yard freestyle. Jackson also helped take the 200-yard freestyle relay, teaming with Katelyn Bauersachs, Ashley Rode and Kathryn McKinney for the win in 1:50.05.
Filiaci added a solo victory in the 100-yard butterfly, edging her closest competitor by just .02 seconds with a time of 1:03.40.
On the men's side, Andrew Minnick took first place in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in 1:50.04, just .65 seconds faster than the second place finisher. Minnick, James Dillon and Tom Schmid took the top three spots, respectively, with first place finishing in 5:00.90.
Minnick was not through on the day, however, combining with Austin Nau, Zachary Gerger and Logan Killian to time a 1:31.75 for a 200-yard freestyle relay victory.
Finally, Justin Berrios (249.70) and Ben Hale (248.65) finished one and two, respectively, in the 1-meter dive.
Oswego will return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday when it travels to Geneseo for a SUNYAC meet.
