Potsdam, N.Y. - The Oswego State men's and women's swimming and diving teams had opposite results Saturday afternoon. Oswego's men cruised with a score of 185-103 while the Bears dropped the women's squad in a close meet score of 149-139.

The Oswego men dominated the 1000-yard freestyle, earning the top three places. Junior Aidan Meehan led the way finishing in 10:53.74 with teammates James Dillion (11:00.16) and Andrew Minnick (11:27.86) earning points as well.

The Lakers repeated the feat in the next event, taking a top three sweep in the 200-yard freestyle. Senior Matt Pamlanye narrowly beat out teammate Tom Schmid by .04 seconds while finishing in a time of 1:52.97. Freshman Jacob Mullett rounded out the scoring in third place with a time of 1:54.83.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Logan Killian took the win with a time of 55.55. Teammates Thomas Kearney (57.72) and Brandon Horsford (1:05.82) took second and third, respectively.

Oswego also owned the 200-yard butterfly as James Pope finished first with a time of 2:07.98, Sanjay Raman in second at 2:19.07, and teammate Minnick rounding out the scoring in 2:23.95.

On the 3-meter diving board, Oswego secured the top two places with Ben Hale leading the way with 256.45 points. Justin Berrios added to the scoring with 217.20 points. Hale and Berrios also took the top two slots on the 1-meter board with scores of 436.35 and 394.85, respectively.

The men took top three honors in the 200-yard backstroke with Austin Nau leading the way in 2:10.89. Killian (2:12.86) and Horsford (2:22.63) earned points as well.

In the 500-yard freestyle, Schmid took top honors at 5:02.48. Dillon and Pamlanye took second (5:16.57) and third (5:19.32), respectively.

Oswego overpowered Potsdam in the 400-yard freestyle relay with the team of Nau, Killian, Pasha Rusakov and Zachary Gerber winning the event in a time of 3:22.98.

On the women's side, Oswego got off to a strong start by taking the 200-yard medley relay. Kaela Russo, Katie Flood, Sabia Filiaci and Emly Doe took the top place in 1:56.83.

Leading Oswego was Flood who took top honors in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.24) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:35.78).

Oswego saw success in the 50-yard freestyle, taking the top two spots. Sabia Filiaci won the event in 26.74 with teammate Emily Doe coming in right behind her at 26.93. Filiaci also took top honors in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 57.99.Â

Oswego cruised on the 1-meter board as Samantha Moss led the way with 317.50 to take first place. Kathryn McKinney scored 300.40 points in second. Moss also took the 3-meter top spot with a score of 195.90.

Filiaci then won her third event of the afternoon in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.89. McKinney added a second place finish at 1:07.14.

Oswego returns to the pool at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Geneseo Invitational.
