Oswego Swimming and Diving Loses at Geneseo

Geneseo, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's and women's swimming and diving teams both fell at Geneseo on Saturday afternoon. Oswego's men lost a close meet 157-132 while the Knights dropped the women's squad 172-102.
 
Andrew Minnick took first in the 200-yard freestyle, pushing to victory with a .09 advantage and a final time of 1:50.22. Minnick (5:05.11) grabbed another first place finish in the 500-yard freestyle while teammates Matt Pamlanye (5:23.51) and James Dillon (5:29.37) finished second and third, respectively.
 
Minnick then continued his dominance with a 400-yard IM win in 4:46.54. Aidan Meehan (4:48.09) and James Mazzarano (5:13.81) finished in the next two spots behind Minnick.
 
The Lakers took the top three spots in the 100-yard butterfly as well, with Sanjay Raman (58.33), Pasha Rusakov (58.76) and Thomas Kearney (59.83) placing first, second and third.
 
Also taking the top spot for the Lakers was Logan Killian, winning the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.12.
 
The last win on the men's side for the Lakers was in the 200-yard freestyle relay, with Rusakov teaming with Austin Nau, Zachary Gerber and Tom Schmid for the victory (1:31.21).
 
Much like their male counterparts, the women also won the 200-yard freestyle relay. Katie Flood, Sabia Filiaci, Emily Doe and Ashley Rode combined for the triumph with a time of 1:45.74.
 
Filiaci won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:03.00 while Flood gained victory in both the 200-yard (2:38.25) and 100-yard (1:10.32) breaststrokes.
 
Laurie Jackson also nabbed an individual win in the 500-yard freestyle (5:43.50) while Diana Galiatsatos took the 400-yard IM in 5:32.35.
 
Oswego will return to action at 2 p.m. on Saturday when it travels to Potsdam.
