OSWEGO, NY – SUNY Oswego Athletics has announced the Oswego Health Student-Athletes of the Month for the month of April. Congratulations to Isabella Lembo of the women's lacrosse team and Jelani Hamer of the baseball team for being selected!
Isabella Lembo was a pillar on the women's lacrosse offense during the month of April. She helped lead the Lakers to their second straight SUNYAC post season appearance. She was top five in the conference in goals for the majority of the season as well as led the Lakers with 55 goals, 24 of them coming in April. Also, in the month of April, Lembo tallied an assist, three ground balls, and a caused turnover. Lembo comes to SUNY Oswego from Massapequa, NY.
Jelani Hamer has been crushing the ball for the Lakers in April collecting a batting average of .464 for just April. He is currently second in the conference with a batting average of .445 this season. He is tied for second in home runs with 6 (also with 6, his teammate Jacob Levine) and third in RBI with 38. In April, Hamer stole eight bases, had thirty-three hits, eleven doubles and four home runs. The Laker baseball team will head to SUNY Cortland Thursday for the first round of the SUNYAC Championships taking on New Paltz at 3:30 PM. Hamer comes to SUNY Oswego from the Bronx, NY.
