How It Happened
Hannah Reichard delivered one of the top moments of the meet, earning a silver medal in the women's 1500 meters with a time of 4:32.78. The mark not only met regional qualifying standards but also set a new SUNY Oswego outdoor program record.
The Lakers added another podium finish in the field, as
Cory Morton placed third in the men's triple jump with a mark of 13.86, continuing Oswego's success across events.
On the track,
Jeffery Simmons narrowly missed the podium in the men's 800 meters, finishing fourth in 1:56.05.
Elena Gaffney turned in a strong distance performance as well, placing fifth in the women's 5000 meters with a regional qualifying time of 18:41.31.
In relay action, the women's 4x100 team of
Escalin Santos,
Daiya Kowalski,
Teagan Roy, and
Sabrina Schmitt finished fifth with a time of 51.45. The women's 4x400 squad—
Hannah Reichard, Kowalski, Schmitt, and Angelina Buttigieg—also secured a fifth-place finish, crossing in 4:17.78. On the men's side,
Cory Morton, Tom Mahunik,
Miles Thompson, and Simmons combined for a ninth-place finish in the 4x400 with a time of 3:33.74.
The men's steeplechase saw Nehemiah Daniel lead the way with an eighth-place finish in 10:07.12, while
Evan Young followed in 16th at 10:59.98.
In the field events, Shea Masses recorded a 19th-place finish in the women's discus with a throw of 26.70 meters.
