OSWEGO, NY - The SUNYAC has released their weekly awards for men's and women's tennis. The Lakers swept the first Women's Tennis Weekly Awards of the 2024 season. Kathryn Salamida is the Singles Athletes of the Week while Emily DuLuca and Leah Bell are the Doubles Team of the Week.

In the opening match for the Lakers against Alfred University, Salamida took care of her opponent 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. The next day at Houghton, things were very similar with her handing her singles opponent the loss 6-1, 6-3. So far this season she is not only undefeated in singles but also in doubles.

In the season opener at Alfred University, DeLuca and Bell dispatched of their opponent 6-1 in their No. 3 doubles match. They followed that up the next day at Houghton taking care of their opponent there by the same score, 6-1. After securing two wins in the opening weekend, the doubles team of Bell and DeLuca has proven to be quite formidable.

Women's tennis will host another match tomorrow starting at 4:00 PM against SUNY Delhi.
