Oswego State Athletics Hall of Fame
An infielder, Michael Charles has the unique distinction of being one of very few players to earn All-SUNYAC First Team accolades in each of his four years. The Auburn, N.Y. native played for the Lakers in the early 1980s, helping guide Oswego to a 25-7 overall mark and a 10-3 conference record on the way to a SUNYAC title in 1982. At the time of Hall of Fame voting, Charles ranked in the top 10 in program history for the following career categories: second in at-bats (458), third in runs (119), fourth in hits (172), fifth in walks (64), tied for sixth in stolen bases (41), tied for seventh in doubles (25), eighth in batting average (.376) and tied for 10th in RBI (81).
