Sean Fitzgerald was a left winger for the Oswego State men’s ice hockey team from 1985-89 who was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 1988. Fitzgerald ranks fourth on the Laker all-time scoring list with 236 points on 125 goals and 111 assists in 125 games. He is one of 13 players in
NCAA Division III history to score seven goals in a game, and ranks 11th all-time in career goals and 20th all-time in career points among all Division III players.

His best season came in 1988-89, when he was named First Team All-SUNYAC, SUNYAC Player of the Year, ECAC Player of the Year, and First Team All-American. During that year, Fitzgerald set the current NCAA Division III men’s ice hockey record for power-play goals in a season (27)
and career (44). He also tied for the Oswego State single-season goal scoring record (51).

Fitzgerald earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration at SUNY Oswego. In 1994, he was inducted into the Oswego Blue Line Club Hall of Fame. He later became a licensed
firefighter in Buffalo, graduating at the top of his class in 1997, and remains a firefighter today. Hockey has remained a part of his life as he serves as a minor hockey volunteer coach in the Buffalo area.
